| Why I got into Dog training Two reasons. First of all and most important is that I love dogs! All kinds of dogs, any size or shape but I do tend to lean a little more to the big dogs like the German Shepard, Golden Retriever and Husky just to name a few. My second reason was due to a puppy that I found on the side of the road in the middle of a Nebraska winter. I was just horrified that someone could leave her out there like that. So, I took her home and begged, begged and begged my mother to let me keep her. I have to say after a long time of begging and my mother telling me how much work it takes to have a puppy she finally gave in. So, here I was with my first puppy and I started training her to the best of my knowledge for a 9 year old. And to my surprise I could not get over how smart she was and how much she could actually learn. She learned things I did not think a dog could do. It was actually very easy and fun to teach her. I would have kept teaching her more but due to whom ever left her outside she ended up with mange from the cold temperatures. My vet gave me medicine to put on her everyday then rinse her off to try to kill it. But to my heart break I could not get rid of them and she was suffering so badly we had to put her down. It was one of the hardest things I ever had to do at my young age but I could not stand the pain she was in. She was a great girl and I loved her very much. About our Kennels Our kennel have just recently moved to Salem Missouri from Lake Elsinore California. The reason behind our move to Missouri, is to get acreage's for our dogs to be able to have lots more running room. We're not like most other kennels, we don't just leave our dogs in our dog runs, they are part of our family and our in our home most of the time. We have 3 different breeds we work with and the reason is that each one of my family members have a breed they like to work with the best. German Shepherd German Shepherds, in general, are intelligent, delightful characters, and are very loyal. They crave constant attention and love from there owners and family members. Most German Shepherds are bright and can learn quickly, while sometimes in the German breeds they can be stubborn and a challenge to train at times. Whatever personality your German Shepherd's has, know that your love, caring and constant training can make your dog a happy companion. Golden Retriever Golden Retrievers, in the early years were used primarily for hunting. As time went by, golden retriever has become a valued family member, a hunting companion, and our used in shows. Golden Retrievers ranged in color from medium gold to dark gold to even a "copper" gold or red colors. Golden Retrievers are known for their temperament. A well bred Golden Retriever is gentle, kind, loving, loyal, happy, confident and outgoing. Golden Retriever excel at obedience training due to there desire to please there owners. If your looking for a big dog for a family setting, they are one that I would highly recommend. Husky (Siberian & Malamute) The Siberian Husky personality is affectionate, alert, adaptable, very eager to please, and extremely loyal. Because they're a pack animal, they love to spend time with their humans and participate in family activities. They are bright, intuitive, and easy to train but also tend to forget and need reminding. Siberian husky can also be very stubborn and are easily bored. Without an outlet for their incredible energy, they tend to be very mischievous. So, they need a lot of exercise and entertainment to keep them from getting into trouble. One of there unique traits is that Siberian Husky don't really bark they howl. If your looking at Siberian Husky for a pet I would recommend that you have a lot of time and energy to keep up with them. |
